Teenage Birthday Party Games
Pop Song Charades
We all know how teens love their
music, so this teenage birthday party game is bound to be a hit.
Prepare a list of songs, with the name of each written on a piece of paper and
placed in a suitable recepticle. Before the party you may wish to consult a
teen to help you come up with some pertinent and popular titles. Add some
toddler songs, like "Old Mac Donald" as well.
Divide your party guests into teams. Each team takes turns selecting a piece of
paper out of the recepticle. They then act it out for the other team to guess.
A point each is awarded to the team that guessed correctly and to the team
doing the charade.
Should the selected song be deemed unsuitable by the team they can choose to do
a toddler song instead. Once all the songs have been correctly guessed, the
game is over. The winning team is the one with the most points.
Acronym Mania
Here's a teenage birthday party
game for the creative thinkers amongst your guests.
Teams of two or three work together to come up with zany, hilarious acronym
deffinitions for a list of pre-selected words.
These can be any sort of word, for example, HAT. This could stand for Hot Aunty
Teaparty.
At the end, each team takes turns sharing their acronyms. You could all then
take a vote to see which team came up with the best one.
Baby If you Love Me
Players sit in a large circle. One player begins
the game by chosing another player who they think they can easily make laugh.
They then approach and say, "Baby if you love me, give me a smile." Immediately
afterwards they must try to make the player smile. This could be by pulling a
funny face or making silly gestures, or anything allowed in a pre-agreed set of
acceptable behaviour. This will to a large extent depend on the ages of the
party group. To make the game more of a challenge you could make a rule that you
are not allowed to touch another player to make them laugh.
The other player must respond, "Baby I do love you, but I'm afraid I cannot
smile." They must not laugh or even smile. If they do then they are 'it' and it
becomes their turn to circulate and make another player laugh. However, if the
starting player fails to make their target laugh then they must continue until
they find someone who does.
Paper Fashion Parade
You would never believe how old newspapers could be
useful for playing teenage birthday party games.
Divide your participants into equal teams. Provide each team with a stack of
old newspapers that you've been saving up for just this occasion. You may also
like to ensure that you have other 'fashion design' tools handy, like string,
cellotape, scissors, pegs and clips etc.
The task is for each team to create a fashion garment for their 'model' (a
nominated member of the team) to wear. Set a time limit for this if you like.
Once completed, you can stage a mock fashion parade and award prizes in
different categories such as: most durable design, most way out design, most
practical design or most glamorous design.
